Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla treated her fans to an impromptu music jam session during his vacation in Siargao with her younger sister, Magui Ford.
In a now-viral TikTok video, the actor cheerfully serenaded his fans with Rivermaya’s hit song Hinahanap-Hanap Kita and Sting’s Englishman In New York, wearing a simple white shirt and a bucket hat. As of writing, the video gained more than 700,000 and 1.6 million views, respectively.
Likewise, it can be seen in the video that the actor’s fans are screaming for another round of song performances from Padilla.
‘May mga tao na sa gig ni Primo, wala nga lang si George’
Sounds familiar? This is one of the social media users’ reactions towards this so-called “free concert” of Daniel, in reference to their iconic 2018 romantic comedy film, The Hows of Us, starring Daniel’s ex-lover, Kathryn Bernardo while singing Hinahanap-Hanap Kita.
“Wala na, isang kanta mo lang sa’yo na ulit ako,” one user wrote in the comment section.
“Gig ni primo. Pero wala ng George,” another one commented.
In case you didn’t know, Hinahanap-Hanap Kita is a song recorded by the Filipino rock band Rivermaya in 1997, released as the first single from their third album, Atomic Bomb. In 2012, the actor covered the song as part of his self-titled debut EP, Daniel Padilla, released in May 2012.
Due to the song’s popularity, it was featured in his prime-time show Princess and I together with Kathryn and on its soundtrack, Love Songs from Princess and I, released in June 2012.
Other users noted how lucky the audience was after Daniel treated them with a “free concert” after high-profile break-up with Kathryn.
“Edi ang swerte nyo. Naka-free concert ba naman. Ang mahal ng talent fee nila.”
“Siargao is really a place for lost souls. You can see that people in Siargao are really supportive and appreciative. Take care of Deej, Siargao,” a fan noted.
“I’m happy to see you enjoying yourself. We miss you DJ! nandito lang kami na true fans mo to support you no matter what,” another TikTok user wrote in the comment section.
Before this vacation, Daniel offered his first sports car, a Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7, to Pinoy Pawnstars for P6.5 million. Rapper and entrepreneur Jayson Luzadas, also known as Boss Toyo, initially negotiated P5.5 million for the vehicle but was rejected. The offer reached P5.8 million, the social media personality’s maximum offer, but was still turned down by the dealer. It was later sold to a car enthusiast from Angeles, Pampanga.
In addition, the P50 million asking price for his family’s Quezon City property has been listed for sale.
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN’s Star Magic, the talent management company that has been Daniel’s manager for over ten years, has confirmed that he would be extending his contract with them and is scheduled to renew it this February. His ex-girlfriend Kathryn had recently renewed her contract with ABS-CBN on Feb. 2.
