“He crossed the line,” ZE:A’s Junyoung receives backlash for using the late Lee Sun Kyun’s name on his statement against malicious commenters

A week ago, Junyoung of ZE:A announced that he would be getting married in September.

Amid the joyous announcement of his upcoming wedding, the singer is under fire for his recent remarks regarding legal actions against the spread of malicious rumors and comments.

On April 8, Junyoung took to his social media to announce his intention to pursue rigorous legal measures against individuals disseminating false rumors and posting harmful comments. He stated, “Legal action has been initiated against high school students who have spread unauthorized false information. The content circulating on anonymous platforms is unequivocally untrue. We will adopt a stringent approach, showing no tolerance towards personal IDs, anonymous communities, and any posts that include malicious comments or the propagation of false information online.”

Junyoung further elaborated, “Even if the dissemination of false information does not amount to defamation, individuals intentionally spreading such misinformation with the aim of tarnishing reputations can be held accountable for obstructing business.”

However, he is facing criticism because of the hashtag he used at the top of his statement. He posted the late Lee Sun Kyun‘s name (##이선균) on top in a large font.

Korean netizens commented, “He’s crossing the line,” “He shouldn’t have named Lee Sun Kyun’s name,” “Please don’t use the dead’s name and get married quietly,” “Fools are the ones who are courageous,” “Wow, is he crazy?” and “He shouldn’t have mentioned the deceased like this?”
