The cemetery where Megan Thee Stallion’s mother is buried has tightened security since Nicki Minaj fans apparently started encouraging one another to desecrate her grave because of an ongoing feud between the two stars.
The Texas cemetery has also informed local police of the potential risk on top of increasing security personnel on Monday. The feud started after Megan Thee Stallion released her single “Hiss” Jan. 25, which was seen as her dissing rapper Nicki Minaj and her husband.
The extra protection is mostly just a precaution, said Christopher James, a spokesman for Service Corporation International, which manages funeral homes and services. Holly Thomas, Megan Thee Stallion’s mother, died in 2019 from brain cancer.
It is unclear who may have revealed the grave’s location, but censored screenshots of posts on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, apparently show the address of the cemetery. The account who made the apparent posts has since been deleted. Others on the social media platform have since claimed the screenshots are fake.
Recent posts also claim that Nicki Minaj’s father’s cemetery location has also been shared online in retaliation.
No one has vandalized Thomas’ grave as of Jan. 31, but the cemetery chose to increase security after news outlets started calling to ask for interviews about the potential risk.
