Park Seo Joon Disappointed in Having ‘Minor’ Role in ‘Concrete Utopia’?
On August 9, the highly-anticipated “Concrete Utopia” finally hit the silver screen. Despite being delayed for almost two years, the movie is receiving a positive responses from the audience.
Lead star Park Seo Joon participated in an interview, and discussed some stories of his journey working on the big project.
“Concrete Utopia” is a disaster movie that follows the story of survivors of the earthquake that happened in Seoul.
The actor plays the role of Min Sung, a firefighter and the husband of Myeong Hwa played by Park Bo Young.
According to the source, the actor plays as a minor character. But despite him portraying a supporting role, the “Fight for My Way” star is said to be the one who suffered the most in filming “Concrete Utopia.”
Park Seo Joon mentioned that he ran around the most and did the most action in the movie. He was the one who suffered the most physically, but there was not much weight in the entire movie, as per the media outlet who interviewed the star.
When asked if he’s disappointed with having a minor role, Park Seo Joon answered, “The centerpiece of the film is Lee Byung Hun and his character, Young Tak.”
Park Seo Joon Satisfied With ‘Concrete Utopia’
Min Sung desperately helped the people at the incident but felt a sense of guilt that he could not save his colleague. However, as the movie progressed, he changed to protect his wife and Park Seo Joon was said to have played his character convincingly.
The heartthrob shared that Min Sung’s emotional line was important in the flow of the play that’s why he made an effort to express these parts in detail. It was a challenge for him to choose how much he should show certain emotions. Hence, he admitted that he was very satisfied with the film.
‘Concrete Utopia’ Goes to Toronto International Film Festival
Meanwhile, Park Seo Joon, Lee Byung Hun, and Park Bo Young will fly to the U.S. as “Concrete Utopia” was invited to the Toronto International Film Festival.
Adding to the ongoing success of the movie, it already surpassed more than one million moviegoers in the first week of its release in Korea.
