Global pop icon Janet Jackson gave Filipino celebrities Karylle, Iza Calzado, and Sarah Geronimo a memorable encounter as they posed for a photo during her concert in Manila on Wednesday, March 13.
On Instagram, Karylle shared their photograph with the “All For You” singer and wrote, “The best things in life are free. Salamat, Miss Jackson!”
When asked by Martin Nievera, who also attended the concert, “how did she end up” taking a picture with Jackson, in the comment section of her post, Karylle remarked that she just “somehow found her way” backstage.
“I danced as much as I could, had the best time and somehow found my way backstage!!!! I can’t believe it Ninong! I even made her giggle ahhhhh! Great great show!” replied the It’s Showtime host.
Aside from the three women, celebrity couple Vicki Belo and Hayden Kho, Vice Ganda, Matteo Guidicelli, and Small Laude were also spotted grooving and jamming as they sat in front seat rows watching the award-winning singer’s full-packed performance.
In his Instagram stories, Kho shared a video of their group dancing and singing to Jackson’s greatest hits, such as “Together Again,” “Let’s Wait a While,” and “All for You,” among others.
After 13 years, the tenth and youngest child of the Jackson family returned to the Philippines to delight her Filipino fans.
In her almost 3-hour concert, Jackson performed “Rhythm Nation,” “That’s The Way Love Goes,” “Miss You Much,” and her collaboration song with her late brother Michael Jackson, “Scream.”
In her illustrious 41-year music career, Jackson has broken gender and racial barriers with her innovative, socially conscious, and passionate songs. With over 100 million records sold, the “Someone to Call My Lover” singer holds the record for the most consecutive top-ten entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart by a female artist with 18.
