Jennylyn Mercado said Dennis Trillo is her first love and stressed that, after being together for almost 10 years, they never had an issue with any third party.
Sitting down with Karen Davila, the couple looked back on their relationship, and Mercado shared that it has always been her dream to spend the rest of her life with the actor.
The “Starstruck” alumna said that one of the factors that kept their relationship intact was that they never had an issue with third parties, as she affirmed that Trillo is a good person.
Never kami nagkaroon ng issue sa mga ganiyan,” said the actress.
The “Maria Clara at Ibarra” actor remarked that he considers the actress as his true love and noted he became a better person because of her.
“True love.
“Malaki. Mas bumait ako. Mas nagkaroon ng direksyon ‘yung buhay ko. Dati kasi parang masiyado akong happy-go-lucky. Wala ako masiyadong plano. Nung nakilala ko siya, nung kinasal kami [nagbago],” added the actor.
When asked why they decided to keep their relationship private, the couple remarked that they are trying to shy away from controversies, noting that they can still be happy without posting about it.
Mercado previously dated actors Mark Herras, Patrick Garcia and Luis Manzano before Trillo. Trillo also had a share of his girlfriends before, including Carlene Aguilar, Cristine Reyes and Bianca King.
Trillo and Mercado first got together in 2010, but they broke up a year later. In 2014, they rekindled their romance and tied the knot in 2021. They have sons from their previous relationships and share a daughter together.
