Jimin was a top student in his class all through his school years well as a top athlete in different types of sports and physical activities including different types of martial arts, he went on to become one of the most sought after idols in the K-pop industry for his unrivaled talent and skill in performance, with many younger idols looking up to him as a role model and senior idols perceiving him with high levels of respect. Evidently, he hihgly excelled in academics and his career.
Now, Jimin is at a new point in his life where he is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service as an active-duty soldier, and he is still shining as brightly as ever. On January 17, news was revealed that Jimin had been awarded the honor of ‘The Best Trainee’ or ‘The Most Exemplary Trainee’ by his Division Commander (Jung Yoon-Ki) on completing his basic training that includes exercises such as basic combat skills, formal discipline, mental power education and establishing a basic military posture to mention a few. This was done during the ceremony of the completion of training, and Jimin got go up to the podium to take oath on behalf of other trainees.
This kind of commendation is usually given to the trainee that attains the highest overall marks and thus rank 1st in all assessments during the training period. The award grants him eligibility for benefits such as one month early promotion and 4 nights of vacation to be used in his home base.
The news was first posted on the official Instagram accounts of Magnate Café and ZM-illenial, both entities run by Jimin’s father, and a fan who was at Magnate Café confirmed this news as well.
A short while later, Korean news outlets published the amazing news as well [refer here and here] and other outlets highlighted the kind of benefits that Jimin would be eligible for on receiving such acknowledgement for his hard work.
“At the graduation ceremony Jimin received a commendation from the division commander which was given to the first place among all trainees. The grand prize for receiving the division commander’s commendation is usually given as a reward for 4 nights and 5 days of vacation as well as benefits such as early promotion.”
Fans have been singing Jimin’s praises since the news broke out, commending his hard work, effort and dedication and mentioning how he excels in everything he does and thrives in any environment he is put in, a true inspiration and role model for them.
They were even more impressed with his award on learning of the kind of assessment tests Jimin would have had to excel in to receive the commendation. ‘Proud’ would not even begin to describe their sentiments towards Jimin!
Following his graduation from training, Jimin has now been assigned to an artillery unit within the 5th Division [read here].
