Alternative rock artist Juan Karlos Labajo, known as JK Labajo, captured hearts with his thoughtful gesture towards a two-month-old baby during his recent gig.
On March 23, 2024, a video posted by Facebook user LifeofEs showed the 23-year-old singer attending to a baby in the audience.
The caption to the post read (published as is): “JK Mas nag worry pa sa 2 months old na Baby kaysa sa sariling magulang ng bata [emoji]
“Huwag nating i-sacrifice ang kaligtasan ng anak natin kaysa sa panandalian nating kaligayahan”
PRIORITIZING INFANTS’ SAFETY
In the viral video, JK was heard addressing the crying baby’s parents, expressing concern about the loud music and coarse language used in his song “Ere.”
He asked, “Two months? Ba’t mo pinaparinig ng ERE yung bata?
“Two months pa lang. Maaga. Wag,” JK urged, referring to the track from his album Sad Songs and Bullshit Part 1, which debuted strongly on the Billboard Philippines Songs chart.
JK continued to ask the adult that brought the baby, “Wala bang ear muffs si baby?
“Umiiyak na si baby o okay lang ba iyan? Umiiyak. Kawawa naman yung bata.”
“Sino ba meron diyang headphones or something? Headphones na di naka-on, something na ganon.”
Although he is grateful for everyone supporting his music, he still believes a child’s safety should be top priority when it comes to music events.
“Maraming salamat sa suporta, pero please, alagaan niyo si baby.”
NETIZENS REACT
Netizens couldn’t help but admire JK’s compassionate side, with some saying that the singer-actor is going to be a responsible father one day.
“He knows better than a real parent altho he’s still single..he’ll be a good father,” one commenter wrote.
Another replied under the post: “Hanga ako sa kanya… di baling mahinto performance niya… basta mabigyang concern niya yong BB… he is a good heart… and he will be a good father im sure…”
