Justin’s decision to step up his game makes sense given that his previous release, Man of the Woods received a lukewarm response.
Everything I Thought I would marks his first album in six years.
The documentary will be pitched to streaming platforms and the Cry Me a River singer hopes it does as well as Swift’s Miss Americana and Beyoncé’s Renaissance film.
His single Selfish entered the charts at no. 19 and the source said: ‘JT’s team are panicked after a lukewarm reception to his comeback single, Selfish. The competition is fierce and they are looking at ways to maximise exposure.
‘He is currently in talks to do a docu. It’s not decided if he will talk about Britney Spears but they know how major that would be. Justin will produce it himself and Amazon has already expressed interest.’
The same week that Timberlake released Selfish a song by the same name by his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears hit the top 10.
Along with the documentary, the What Goes Around Comes Around crooner will embark on the North American leg of his Forget the World tour.
Additionally, Justin is reportedly interested in sitting down with Oprah Winfrey, 70, for a tell-all interview.

Justin Timberlake arrives to his 43rd birthday concert in NYC
He has been accused of mocking the Toxic singer, 42, last week at his birthday concert when he said he had no one to apologize to before he launched into his track Cry Me a River, which is believed to be about Britney cheating on him when they were together.
A source told The Sun about how he wants to use a chat with Oprah to publicly address the fallout of his fresh spat with the singer. ‘Justin is really not happy how things have gone down. He wanted the music to speak for itself but that’s clearly not happening.
Britney, who dated Justin from 1999 to 2002, said before Justin’s birthday gig she wanted to apologize to anyone she had left ‘offended’ by her autobiography, saying in a now-deleted Instagram message: ‘I am deeply sorry.’
She then addressed Justin, adding: ‘I also wanted to say I am in love with Justin Timberlake’s new song Selfish.
Justin told fans at his One Night Only gig at Irving Plaza in New York City on 31 January, held on his 43rd birthday: ‘I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to absolutely nobody.’
His declaration and song choice of ‘Cry Me a River’ left fans convinced he was having a pop at Britney, with some ranting online his statement was a disgrace.
