BLACKPINK, NewJeans, aespa, and other K-pop girl group members were invited to the presentation of women’s fashion collections at the prestigious Paris Fashion Week, which took place from the 26th of last month to the 5th of this month, garnering the spotlight.
On the final day of the fashion week, a member of BLACKPINK, Lisa, attended the fashion show of luxury brand Louis Vuitton. She posted a photo taken with Nicola Ghesquière, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton Women’s Collections, on her social media account. Lisa’s on-site video posted on Louis Vuitton’s official SNS account received 140,000 likes within two hours. On the same day, Hyein from NewJeans and Nayeon from TWICE also attended the Louis Vuitton show. Jennie from BLACKPINK shone at the Chanel fashion show on the same day, while Jisoo attended the Dior fashion show on the 27th of last month. Rosé also appeared at the Saint Laurent fashion show on the 27th of last month.
Jang Wonyoung from IVE, Momo from TWICE, and Minnie from (G)I-DLE were also invited to the Miu Miu fashion show on the 5th. Giselle from aespa was appointed as the ambassador for the Spanish luxury brand LOEWE and attended the fashion show on the 1st. All members of ITZY, except Lia who is currently on hiatus, attended the Courrèges fashion show held on the 28th of last month. AILET, a rookie girl group under HYBE’s subsidiary Belift LAB, who have not yet debuted, attended their first official event by being invited to the Acne Studios fashion show on the 28th of last month.
The invitation of K-pop girl group members to Paris Fashion Week reflects the fashion industry’s increasing interest in the K-pop market, dominated by fans in their 10s and 20s, as luxury brands target younger consumer demographics.
