Following the commercial success of their debut extended play (EP), K-pop boy group TWS is set to make their first comeback with a summer-themed album, igniting a wave of anticipation for the record through the pre-release single “hey! hey!”.
Unveiled on Wednesday, “hey! hey!” is about young people who “discover companionship in others who share the same dream,” the group’s label, Pledis Entertainment, said in a press release.
“Together, they form a team, supporting each other along the way,” Pledis said.
This message is echoed in the song’s lyrics, including the chants “We don’t stop” and “We can do it all day” that are repeated throughout the energetic song.
“The track audibly captures the TWS members’ relentless pursuit of their goals and serves as a metaphor for TWS’ unwavering passion,” Pledis said.
On the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, the group also dropped a music video for the song, featuring members Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin embarking on a spontaneous trip after school.
“hey! hey!” is one of the tracks from TWS’ second EP “Summer Beat!”, scheduled for release on June 24.
Launched in January, TWS (pronounced as “Two-Us”) is the latest act from Pledis Entertainment, the same K-pop label that houses popular boy band SEVENTEEN and girl group fromis_9.
