MANILA — The Philippine adaptation of South Korea’s “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” trended anew recently after the iconic kissing scene of its lead stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino inside a cabinet.
The same scene is also a fan-favorite from the original Korean series – hence netizens were curious how many takes did it take Chiu and Avelino to perfect the romantic scene.
“Isa lang,” Chiu candidly told ABS-CBN News.
“Isa – or dalawa siguro para dun sa backshot. Ayaw naming mapahiya kaya ginandahan na rin namin ni Direk Chad (Vidanes), para sa viewers,” Avelino added.
When asked if the scene was easy or difficult, they answered it was just “normal” since they already knew fans would highly expect that specific scene since the beginning.
“Grabe naman ‘yung difficult at easy. [Siguro] Normal… Siyempre, hindi pa nagsisimula ‘yung “Secretary Kim”, ‘yan na yung iniisip na palabas na mga tao, ‘yung fan talaga ng show na ‘naku, eto ha, aabangan talaga namin ito kasi very iconic ‘to!’” Chiu said.
Chiu and Avelino unveiled on Friday the newest poster of their series which will air on free television starting May 25.
Designed by Justin Besana and photographed by Aileen Yatco, the two stars gushed over the cute design.
“Naalala ko nung shinoot namin ‘to, gustong-gusto ko ‘yung mga moving papers while still ‘yung background,” Avelino said. “Parang ikaw (Chiu) ang boss ko diyan.”
“Hindi ba?” Chiu jokingly replied.
The two also shared that they feel overwhelmed and thankful for the support that they have received from “Linlang“ and to now “Secretary Kim.“
With the KimPau fever going global, they said they are open to work on a movie in the future – as long as the story will offer a “new flavor” to the audience.
