Ahead of the release of What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? on Viu, Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino staged a production number in It’s Showtime, much to the delight of their fans.
In an interview with the hosts of the noontime program, the onscreen pair shared what it was like working together for the series.
“Parang halos one year din na dere-derechong katrabaho ko si Kimmy and masasabi kong mas nakikilala ko siya habang patagal nang patagal,” Paulo said.
“From Linlang tapos dinirecho namin sa What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? masaya naman akong kasama si Paulo, katrabaho,” said Kim. “Sobra siyang dedicated sa trabaho so nahahawa na rin ako.”
The actress remarked that she feels elated to star in an adaptation of a hit K-Drama.
“This is a feel-good project and nakaka-happy to do a Philippine adaptation ng isang sikat na Korean drama,” Kim stated.
When asked what job title he would give Secretary Kim if he would promote her, Paulo responded: “Hindi ko alam kung promotion ang tawag dun, pero housewife.”
He then asked Kim: “Nag-TESDA ka na ba?”
Kim quipped: “Nag-TESDA na ako.. Marunong na ako magluto, mamalantsa, maglaba. Alagaan kita.”

What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim? follows the story of a handsome and narcissistic vice-chairman of a big company. He thinks his life is perfect until his really skilled secretary, who has worked with him for a long time, decides to quit her job. He tries his best to make her stay, and as they go through some misadaventures, they both begin to fall in love with each other.
Paulo will play the role of Vice-Chairman while Kim will portray the role of Secretary Kim in the series.
In a previous interview, Kim expressed her admiration for Paulo’s comedic performance in the series.
“Sobrang funny siya dito. Hindi na siya si Paulo Avelino. What’s right with Paulo? Everything is going well din sa kanya. He’s very professional. He’s very funny now. What’s right about Paulo is he’s being himself and that’s what makes him right,” she relayed.
