On December 15, Sports Kyunghyang revealed the final results for their “Wild Berry Film Festival” (Korea’s version of “Golden Raspberry Awards”), which narrowed down the worst cinematic works and personnel of 2023.
It is known that a total of 55 movie reporters participated in this “film festival”, and 5 actors were selected for each of the two categories “Worst Manners” and “Worst Acting Skills”.
The results of the aforementioned categories is as below:
Worst Manners
1. Hwang Jung-min (18 votes).
According to the 18 reporters who selected Hwang Jung-min, the actor has not participated in any interview with the press for 5 consecutive years, and often leaves the promotions of his work to his co-stars and directors.
It is known that the actor also favors YouTube content over press interviews, causing frustrations among reporters.
2. Jung Tae-won, Director of “Marrying the Mafia: Returns” (14 votes)
In the press conference for “Marrying the Mafia: Returns”, Jung Tae-won admitted to originally requesting to hold no press conference due to fearing the media’s “disastrous evaluation”. The director also mentioned how he felt like being shot by media review, and is said to have conflicts with some reports.
3. Lee Dong-hwi (12 votes)
Explaining why Lee Dong-hwi is voted as having the “worst manners”, reporters claimed that the actor stayed silent and refused to answer any question related to his girlfriend Jung Ho-yeon, creating an awkward atmosphere.
Additionally, it is said that after talking about a sensitive matter of a colleague, Lee Dong-hwi initially requested that the media not report such matter, only to talk about it later on a radio show.
3. Song Joong-ki (12 votes)
In an interview regarding his movie in October, Song Joong-ki sarcastically dismissed reporters at the scene, saying, “Are you guy writing a novel?”. This attitude is viewed as passive-agreessive by many.
6th place: Park Seo-joon & Lee Sun-kyun (7 votes each)
In 2023, the 5th place for “worst manners” was “none” with a total of 10 votes.
However, Park Seo-joon and Lee Sun-kyun each received 7 votes, landing them in 6th place. According to reporters, Park Seo-joon acted unfriendly and impolite in the press conference for “Concrete Utopia”, while Lee Sun-kyun often talks about his family but never does anything useful to help them. He also got involved in drug investigation, causing issues for his upcoming work.
Worst Acting
Shockingly, the “worst acting” category of 2023 includes a lot of big names, with Han Hyo-joo topping the list and even Kim Hye-soo being included.

2. Ha Jung-woo in “1947 Boston” (11 votes)
3. Yura in “Marrying the Mafia: Returns” (10 votes)
4. Park Seong-woong in “Live Stream” (6 votes)
5. Go Ara in “The Childe”, Park Seo-joon in “Concrete Utopia”, and Kim Hye-soo in “Smugglers” (5 votes each)
