Kristoffer Martin recalled working with Kathryn Bernardo in the 2010 TV series “Endless Love,” and admitted he had a crush on the actress at the time.
Martin and Bernardo played the younger versions of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera’s characters in the GMA series, which is based on the Korean drama “Autumn in My Heart.”
Martin spoke about his experience with his former onscreen partner during an interview on the “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel” podcast on Wednesday, April 3.
The subject was brought up in the conversation after broadcaster Arcangel asked the actor if his 13-year-old self had a hard time portraying a character with a love interest.
“Parang high school po ako no’n, parang lahat naaapektuhan ako no’n kasi bata e… Mas madali po siya kasi maharot po ako nung teenage years ko,” he quipped.
Arcangel then asked if Martin developed an admiration for Bernardo, which the actor answered affirmatively.
“Opo. For me, it added na lang din do’n sa chemistry namin, kung paano namin siya ginawa,” he said.
“Pero syempre hindi ko po inamin sa kanya ‘yon. Tsaka sana di niya ‘to mapanood,” he added, laughing.
Just last February, Martin expressed interest in working with Bernardo again.
“Kath, baka naman. Work tayo. Sayang ‘yung ‘Endless Love,’” he said in a “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” interview. “Tuloy natin. Gandang following non.”
