Actor Lee Dong-wook shared sincere thoughts about his 25-year acting career in the April issue of Vogue Man Hong Kong
On March 26th, Vogue Man Hong Kong released an interview with actor Lee Dong-Wook, who decorated the cover of the April issue, calling him a “sincere actor who broke his limit”.
In the interview, Lee Dong-wook shared, “My current life motto or vision is to focus on reality and I want to look at myself in a more objective way”, adding “Since I’m preparing for a new drama, the most important thing at this stage is completing a good project. Of course, I really want to surprise viewers by taking on roles I’ve never played before in the future.”
In his third year of high school, Lee Dong-wook joined a model contest at the recommendation of his family and won an award. After becoming a professional model, he later changed his career to acting. Making his debut as an actor in “Best Theater”, Lee Dong-wook became widely known to the public in 2005 with youth dramas “School 2” and “School 3” and then rose to stardom with the romance drama “My Girl”.
After that, the actor reached his heyday with “Goblin” and is still constantly releasing new works. Describing Lee Dong-wook, the magazine said, “Compared to a typical ‘flower boy’ handsome man, he gives off a calmer and deeper impression”.
In the recent drama “A Shop for Killers”, Lee Dong-wook challenged a tough and muscular character. The actor said, “I wanted to try a drama that I had never done before. I spent a long time considering the character, but the drama already met both conditions”, adding “I put a lot of effort into expressing special feelings to show the characters’ special family relationships”.
When it comes to his daily life, Lee Dong-wook emphasized, “I’m very ordinary. I just do some workouts, do housework, or meet with friends for some drinks”.
This year marks Lee Dong-wook’s 25th debut anniversary. In this regard, he commented, “If no one had mentioned it, I wouldn’t have realized that I’ve been acting for 25 years”, adding “To be honest, I don’t care much about the numbers. I’m busy every year and I must have gradually gained experience throughout the past 25 years”.
He added, “My strengths are my sincerity and diligence. I’m a little upset about myself because I don’t think I’ve been as diligent as I used to be lately”, adding “I feel like I have to keep trying my best”.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-wook showcased a new transformation in Disney+’s drama “A Shop for Killers”.
