The release date for Liza Soberano’s upcoming Hollywood debut movie, Lisa Frankenstien, has been announced.
On its official Instagram page, the movie shared that it will be released in theaters on February 9, 2024.
“It’s giving unliving ⚡️ LISA FRANKENSTEIN only in theaters 2.9.24,” said the social media post.
Liza has worked on the film with its main leads Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.
A sneak peek of the film was also posted on social media, wherein Cole Sprouse’s character can be seen rising from a tanning machine.
Directed by Zelda Williams, the film was written by Diablo Cody.
Liza plays the role of an 80s high school cheerleader named Taffy in the film.
“One thing in particular that drew me to the role is I like the fact that it takes place in the 80s which is something that I didn’t get to do before. I’ve never done something from a different time period so I really enjoy all the different looks, the hair, the makeup, the outfits,” she said in an interview with Rappler.
On working with Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse, Liza said that both stars were really supportive of her.
“Cole and Kathryn, at such a young age, they are like veterans in this industry. They have been working since they were very young so they were very professional, they knew exactly what to do, and they all knew that I am new to this American production and they made sure that I got comfortable with them and with working in such a new environment,” she stated.
According to Deadline, Lisa Frankenstein tells the story of “an unpopular high school student (Kathryn) who accidentally re-animates a handsome Victorian corpse (Cole) during a lightning storm and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams, using the broken tanning bed in her garage.”
