Lovi Poe, JM De Guzman, and Jameson Blake are set to join forces in the upcoming movie “Guilty Pleasure” which explores the “complex relationships” between “three ambitious lawyers.”
Poe, De Guzman, and Blake’s new project was announced on the official Instagram page of Regal Films on Tuesday, April 9. The post also showed a glimpse of the leads’ chemistry as they took on a script reading.
“New project alert: Lovi Poe, JM De Guzman, Jameson Blake in their script reading for #GuiltyPleasure, directed by Connie Macatuno and written by Noreen Capili, FSG,” its caption read.
In a separate post by Capili, the screenwriter hinted that the film will revolve around the “personal struggles of three ambitious lawyers,” seemingly referring to Poe, De Guzman, and Blake’s characters.
“‘Guilty Pleasure’ explores the complex relationships and personal struggles of three ambitious lawyers as they navigate their way through love, betrayal, and revenge,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Starring Lovi Poe, JM de Guzman, and Jameson Blake, written by me, directed by Connie Macatuno, for @RegalFilms.”
Details on the film’s remaining cast and release date are yet to be announced.
Poe is about to star in the independent film “Bad Man” produced by Garry A. Brown, best known for his work on multiple seasons of Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” She is joined by Seann William Scott, Johnny Simmons, Rob Riggle, Chance Perdomo, and Andre Hyland.
In March 2024, the actress shared that she opened her own production company that aims to put the spotlight on Filipino talent.
