Maggie Wilson Is Not Allowed To Speak With Or To Look For Her Son Connor Due To Protection Order
Maggie Counts The Days Since She Last Saw Connor
Maggie posted a carousel of photos with Connor, her son with estranged husband Victor Consunji, on May 12, 2024. The pictures were from the last time the mother and child were together for Mother’s Day in 2022.
Maggie explained her current plight in her caption.
“It’s been almost two years since I last held him and 494 days since we last spoke. I’ve missed 2 birthdays, 2 Christmas’, 2 New Year’s celebrations and countless milestones. There is nothing more painful than the loss of a child who I know is growing up without me.
You may have noticed that I’ve been posting less about him. It’s because I received a notice for a Protection Order for sharing images and videos of my own son on social media. To stop me from seeing or speaking to him until he is an adult.”
“I am a mother but I have been robbed of being able to be a mother. Nonetheless, I will always be his mommy and that is something no one, not even time can erase. You are always with me Connor. Forever in my heart, in my mind, and my prayers. One day bubbah. Our time will come. I will never lose hope. I love you and miss you dearly my little man.”
“To all the mothers who understand the complexities of love and loss, may this day bring a gentle reminder of the enduring bond that transcends time and space. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, near and far, who carry their children in their hearts, today and always.”
What Is A Protection Order?
According to the Philippine Commission On Women, a protection order is a legal instrument under RA 9262: the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. It is “issued under this act for the purpose of preventing further acts of violence against women or her child. And granting other relief as may be needed. The relief granted under a protection order serve the purpose of safeguarding the victim from further harm, minimizing any disruption in the victim’s daily life, and facilitating the opportunity and ability of the victim to independently regain control of her life. The provisions of the protection order shall be enforced by law enforcement agencies.”
There are three types of protection orders under RA 9262: Barangay Protection Orders (BPO), Temporary Protection Orders (TPO), and Permanent Protection Order (PPO).
Several personalities may file for a protection order aside from the offended party. They include the parents or guardians of the offended party, ascendants, descendants or collateral relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity, officers or social workers of the DSWD or social workers of local government units (LGUs), and police officers.
Barangay officials such as the barangay caption or kagawad may also file for a protection order. A lawyer, counselor, therapist, or healthcare provider of the petitioner may also request the same. Two concerned citizens may also file for a protection order on behalf of the offended party, following specific provisions under the law.
Maggie Wilson Longs For Her Son
Since parting ways with Victor in 2021, Maggie has struggled to keep in contact with Connor. She has also been the subject of a smear campaign last September 2023. In 2022, her family was harassed with an attempt to kick them out of their house allegedly orchestrated by Victor.
For Mother’s Day last year, Maggie posted a video dedicated to her son. She alluded to the ongoing legal battle between her and Victor. She also promised Connor that there would come a day wherein he would understand more about their family. “You will grow up and realize what happened. And I will show you all the facts. I have never been scared because I know that the truth always prevails,” said Maggie.
