Actress-host Maine Mendoza reminded her followers on social media to remain respectful when asking for photos with celebrities. The celebrity shared her thoughts following the rise of cases of several people getting sick.

“Random thought dahil ang daming may sakit ngayon,” she wrote.

Maine maintained that despite being public figures, a celebrity shouldn’t be asked to remove their face masks just for a quick photo opportunity with the fan. She added that it gives an added layer of protection not just for the celebrity but for the fans as well.

“People should stop asking anyone to take off their masks when posing for a photo. Some public figures wear masks in public for reasons beyond just avoiding recognition,” she shared.

“Sometimes, some individuals opt to wear masks because they are unwell and prefer not to risk contracting or spreading a virus,” she added.

The noontime host noted that at the end of the day, celebrities are working as well and should always be in their healthiest state.

“Ang hirap mag trabaho nang masama ang pakiramdam kaya ingat always, fam,” she closed.

Fans of Maine expressed their support for her thoughts in the reply section of her post on X (formerly Twitter). They shared that some fans shouldn’t feel entitled to interact with celebrities in private settings as they are human as well just like the rest.

“True.. 🙏mahirap magkasakit ngayon tagal ng process ng healing pansin ko lang.🙏 Get well sa’yo meng.. 🙏 stay hydrated,” a fan shared.

“Lagi ako nakamask kasi may autoimmune disease ako, madali ako mahawa. Keber na kung di masyado maganda sa pic, basta walang sakit,” another fan added.

Meanwhile, a netizen seemingly disagreed with Maine’s post and made a negative comment in the reply section. Maine didn’t hesitate to call out the netizen as she took a screenshot of his post and profile (which said he knew how to respect people) and shared it.

“Roldan paano,” she quipped, referring to his negative comment.

She also uploaded a reaction photo to the amusement of her fans on the platform. After quite some time, the netizen blocked Maine’s account but the actress-host continued with her question.

“Bakit parang kasalanan ko roldan,” she added.

Netizens laughed it off as Maine took the negative comment lightheartedly.
