Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee has added another jewel to her crown as the beauty queen showcased her inner action star in her latest video.
The country’s new tourism ambassador shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the GMA’s action series, Black Rider, on her X (formerly Twitter) account, delivering an impressive series of punches and kicks.
In case you missed it, Michelle confirmed last November that she was joining the Kapuso series, top-billed by Kapuso Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid. This is not the first time the two worked on a project together, as they also starred in the 2019 romantic film Cara X Jagger.
As a self-confessed adrenaline junkie, the 28-year-old beauty queen shared that she is excited to do the role, especially when it involves motorcycle riding.
“Actually, matagal ko nang alam, even before the production of ‘Black Rider’ started, I’ve known about the project, of course from Miss Annette and Miss Joy. I knew na it was a motorcycle concept and alam niyo naman, I’m such an adrenaline junkie and I was like ‘I want to be on that show,'” Michelle said in an interview with Nelson Canlas for 24 Oras.
Although her character has yet to be announced, Michelle gave her followers the idea that she would play an “assassin” in the series through a post on her Instagram broadcast channel.
“A new assassin is about to emerge. Abangan on #BlackRider,” Michelle wrote alongside photos of herself in costume, holding guns, and looking fierce.
Social media users fawned over the video, sharing their excitement over Michelle’s role. They even said her character was reminiscent with some popular female action star characters like including Lara Croft (Tomb Raider), Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games), and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow).
The series also features Yassi Pressman, Gladys Reyes, Katrina Halili, Roi Vinzon, Matteo Guidicelli, among others.
Michelle was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2023 in May. She represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, where she finished in the Top 10 and bagged special recognitions, including “Voice for Change,” Carnival Cruise Award, and Best in National Costume.
