Michelle Dee spoke out about her past relationships, revealing she’d been cheated on multiple times, with some friends even being aware of it beforehand.
Michelle, who joined as a searchee on It’s Showtime‘s segment “EXpecially for You,” said that her ex-partner once broke up with her, only to find out that she had been replaced the following day.
“‘Yun pala nag-cheat,” Michelle said.
She continued, “May isa akong ex na tumitira pala sa bahay ko, mga three weeks na, ‘yun pala ginagawa niyang bahay ko ang pang FaceTime niya sa dine-date niyang iba.”
Michelle said that her friends knew about it, which hurt her even more.
“‘Yung mas masakit don is alam ng mga kaibigan ko, so dun ako mas nasaktan,” she said. “Ayon, hindi ko na rin kaibigan.”
She said that if it were her, she would tell her friend who was being betrayed right away.
“Syempre ako best friend ko tapos nalaman ko nag che-cheat yung partner niya, sasabihin ko yun kaagad. In my particular situation, parang hindi alam kung sa’n lumugar ‘yung mga kaibigan kasi nakikigamit din sila ng bahay ko,” she said.
When asked by Vice what’s the most painful part she experienced in love, Michelle said when she was asked to choose between love or career.
“Yung recent ex ko, pinapili ako sa career eh. Pinapili ako sa relationship. Akala ko end game na kami,” she said.
Michelle said everything was “perfect” at the beginning until her schedule got busy.
“Perfect na sa simula eh. Eh ‘yun nga, pa-start pa lang ‘yung pageant journey ko, so siya ‘yung kasama ko preparing, losing all of my weight, mga training. Eh nanalo ako nung Miss World Philippines so mas naging hectic yung schedule ko,” the 28-year-old beauty queen said.
“Dun niya napansin na eto ang career ko,” she continued. “Hindi niya ata na-realize kung gaano ka-demanding ang industry.”
Michelle also shared, “Itong ex ko na ‘to, siya lang ang pinakilala ko sa nanay ko.”
She noted in the beginning that healthy relationships are built on mutual support.
“Ako talaga career over love kasi it does not have to be a choice. It should not be a choice. Kung may [ka]relasyon ka, dapat support siya sa kung anong gusto mo,” she said.
Michelle was crowned the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 in May. She represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, where she finished in the Top 10 and bagged special recognitions, including “Voice for Change,” Carnival Cruise Award, and Best in National Costume.
