Miley Cyrus had that ‘no idea at all’ there were hard feelings between her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Noah Cyrus surrounding Tish’s recent marriage to actor Dominic Purcell.
The Grammy-winning musical artist, 31, ‘had no idea about the drama with Dominic,’ a source told People on Sunday.
The Franklin, Tennessee native – who won her first-ever BRIT Award in London Saturday – ‘confronted her mom about’ claims that Tish, 56, began seeing Purcell, 54, after he had been romantically-linked with Noah, 24, the source told People.
The Wrecking Ball singer ‘thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy,’ according to the source.
Noah had been ‘offended’ in learning about the romance, an insider previously told the publication, and things between Noah and Purcell had definitively concluded before he and Tish began seeing one another.
‘Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a friends with benefits way, off and on,’ said the source. ‘Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.
‘They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up. Tish never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this before they got married.’
Tish and Purcell wed at Miley’s home August 19, 2023 in a ceremony that Noah skipped.
The nuptials came two months after Noah revealed her engagement to Pinkus, a fashion designer.
Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus ended their 28-year marriage in April of 2022 when the Achy Breaky Heart vocalist filed for divorce.
They are also parents to daughters Brandi, 36, and sons Trace, 35, and Braison, 29, while Billy Ray is also father to son Christopher Cody, 31, from a separate relationship.
A family insider told Dailymail.com February 28 that Noah had ‘fabricated details’ of a relationship with Purcell.
‘Noah never dated Dominic and they were not together,’ the insider said. ‘She is delusional to think otherwise and is trying to create a narrative that will paint her as a victim.’
The source added of the rift, ‘Noah has always craved the attention because she did not get it growing up. Tish was always so Miley-sided because that is where the money was.’
Miley remains surging professionally, as she took home the first two Grammys of her career at Sunday’s 66th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last month.
The Flowers vocalist claimed the honors of Best Pop Solo Performance and Record Of The Year for her 2023 release Flowers – besting the red-hot Taylor Swift in both categories.
