Income issues will be a decisive factor in BLACKPINK Lisa’s decision to renew her contract with YG.
On July 31, Deccan Chronicles revealed new information that might influence BLACKPINK Lisa’s decision to renew her contract with YG Entertainment this August. The news site said that Lisa would reportedly leave YG Entertainment due to persistent problems with her income.
They also revealed that, while Lisa was the most popular member, she was paid the least, which urged her to find a better management company with better pay.
Nonetheless, the news has not been verified; fans are waiting for responses from YG Entertainment about the unequal treatment in terms of their artists’ income.
Before we can determine the member’s overall net worth, we must first recognize that BLACKPINK’s members are paid $8 million (Dhs29 million) per year, with each member receiving $32 million (Dhs117 million) per year. Despite her success, Jisoo – US$20 million acting appears to have been a profitable venture, making her the richest Blackpink member.
In the past, a similar case was raised. Former CLC member Sorn revealed she was heavily disappointed by how non-Korean idols were treated in Korea in terms of royalty payment. She added that BLACKPINK Lisa was under the same treatment.
Sorn explained, because there was incompatibility between Thai and Korean laws, she could only receive a portion of the payment that was lesser than that of other members. The rest of Sorn’s payment was kept by the Federation of Korean Music Performers (FKMP). The situation was later resolved after Sorn contacted FKMP and received her payment in full. Fans took it that Lisa’s situation was also resolved through FKMP.
