After a large NewJeans fanbase was found to have insulted BLACKPINK Lisa and blocked fans, an official apology has been issued.
On August 11th (Korean time), NewJeans Global – a fanbase of girl group NewJeans on SNS platform X (formerly Twitter) with over 100,000 followers, issued an apology.
In particular, NewJeans Global published a Tweet which began by saying, “Please read thoroughly and cautiously, thank you”.

The Tweet in question include several photos, 2 of which explain the situation, whilst others were alleged “chatlogs” of the admins.
The first explanation reads, “Around 1:40 AM (UK time), one of our admins noticed that a Bunny (NewJeans fan) has sent us a DM, in which they showed a Tweet we had ‘posted’. We don’t have any notifications on, so we didn’t immediately notice when this Tweet was posted. This admin immediately deleted this Tweet as it was hate, and asked the group chat who posted it, proof is provided below. This person started to DM the fan some weird things and they closed the DM for their safety. (Please be aware, our admins are all in different time zones and different phones. Hence all the screenshots having different times and even different layouts.”
NewJeans Global then mentioned that either they were hacked, or someone with previous access was setting them up. However, although they have changed the account’s password in the past, it is possible that the “hacker” was still logged in. Even now, they don’t know if the issue was caused by a hacker or someone who used to be an admin and thus, still have access to the account. In the end, they changed every password and the connected email to log everyone out.
“Our team accepts full responsibility for being irresponsible with the access we let people have. We have been very careless in the way this account has been handled and we apologize for recklessly letting people we thought we could trust use it”, the fanbase further stated, adding that they currently have 13 people in their group chat and 7 active admins who run the account from all around the world.
NewJeans Global continued by mentioning their appearance on TV networks and multiple huge media accounts, which caused their team to be unable to sleep due to “anxiety and panic” caused by the situation.
Then, they announced that they will be “taking some time off to fully grasp the situation”, but will be back running the account as normal in the near future.
“The only thing our admins are guilty of is being careless, which we fully take responsibility for”, the fanbase said, adding, “We are sorry to Lisa for having to endure this and we are especially sorry to Bunnies for the disappointment we have caused you.”
“Sorry Lisa, Sorry BLINKs”, NewJeans Global apologized to BLACKPINK Lisa and fans once again.
Meanwhile, NewJeans Global was previously reported on various outlets for insulting BLACKPINK Lisa, and fans of BLACKPINK started to trend the key word “APOLOGIZE TO LISA” to demand an apology.
As an official apology was issued, however, some show sympathy, whilst others remain suspicious against NewJeans Global’s claims about alleged hacking and set up.
