A number of children have been injured after a double-decker school bus hit a railway bridge in Winchester, Hampshire Police have confirmed to the BBC.
Hampshire Police told the news outlet that some of the pupils – who all attend Henry Beaufort School in Harestock – were taken to hospital with ‘serious injuires’.
None sustained life-threatening injuries, the force added.
According to the Metro, the bus collided with the bridge on Wellhouse Lane just before 8.15am this morning.

South Central Ambulance Service Hampshire responded to the incident, along with Hampshire Constabulary, Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service and Network Rail.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Winchester, Eastleigh, Andover, Redbridge and Basingstoke were mobilised at 08:12 this morning to Well House Lane in Winchester.”

South Central Ambulance Service also said in a statement: “It’s been agreed at the incident scene that Hampshire Police will be the lead agency in term of media information.
“We are attending along with them, Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service and Network Rail.”
