Ogie Diaz clarified that he’s not holding a grudge against Bea Alonzo as a response to the actress and Dominic Roque’s statement against certain insiders who reported their breakup without their consent.
Diaz said on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Feb. 13 that he bore no resentment towards Alonzo and that people were merely speculating about his supposed ill feelings for her.
“Wala po akong galit kay Bea, feeling lang yon ng iba. Sorry po sa mga na-offend sa mga ibinabalita namin. You can unfollow naman anytime, wag nang magpaalam. Socmed mo, hawak mo, desisyon mo,” he wrote.
(I’m not mad at Bea, others just made such assumptions. Sorry to those I offended with my reports. You can unfollow me anytime, don’t ask for my permission. You own your social media account. It’s your decision.)
Without referring to anyone in particular, Diaz asserted in a follow-up post that his reports come from reputable sources and he’s not one to outrightly confirm anything without basis.
“Basta kami, me nakakausap na source. At sinasabi ko naman na ayon sa source and hindi ko kinukumpirma. Baket, meron nga, totoo na, dinedenay pa eh. But eyes can’t lie. So ano? Ipipilit ko ba yung alam ko? Hindi na. Basta they know the truth,” he said.
(As for me, I gathered these from my sources. I only state what my sources tell me and I’m not confirming anything. Why, you can see the signs that the reports are true — yet they still deny it. But eyes can’t lie. So what? Do I need to force anything? No. As long as they know the truth.)
Earlier this month, Alonzo and Roque confirmed they called off their engagement in a joint statement. They also spoke against certain people who reported on their split without asking their permission.
Diaz reported Alonzo and Roque’s split on his showbiz vlog last Feb. 3, while mentioning they decided to sign a prenup before getting married. He also alleged that the couple parted ways and the actress decided to focus on herself.
Boy Abunda, who confirmed Alonzo and Roque’s breakup in his talk show last Feb. 6, said he is choosing to remain silent as a show of respect to the couple’s statement.
