Bottled water exposed to sunlight
Nutrition expert Pin Xuan from Taiwan (China) states that regular plastic bottles (PET) can release harmful substances after prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Even if left in a car without direct sunlight, the temperature inside the car after exposure to sunlight can still be extremely high (it can even exceed 70°C in summer), and they will still release harmful substances or deform. It is advised not to drink water from these bottles. -
Leaving water in your mouth for too long
Nutrition experts point out that there are many bacteria in the human mouth. After contact with water, bacteria will grow in the water. If left for too long, the number of bacteria can increase drastically! Therefore, Pin Xuan advises you to drink water as soon as possible. -
Boiled water left to cool for several days
Many people think that water, after being boiled and disinfected, can be stored indefinitely. However, Pin Xuan points out that if the container is not clean or is left uncovered, the number of microorganisms in the water can increase during storage. -
Untreated water
Some people believe that natural mountain water is clean and can be drunk directly. In reality, untreated mountain water is easily contaminated, and drinking it directly can introduce bacteria and parasites into the body!
Additionally, many people drink a lot of water after intense exercise, but Pin Xuan reminds everyone that the body loses many electrolytes after strenuous exercise. Drinking a lot of water immediately after exercise without replenishing electrolytes can lead to hypokalemia, with symptoms like fatigue, cramps, and arrhythmias. She advises drinking water in moderation or adding salt to the water to replenish electrolytes.
