Do not assume the bottles replace proper loading

The bottles are not a substitute for avoiding overloading.

If the drum is completely packed, adding anything else can make the situation worse.

The most important principle remains the same:

Give clothes enough room to move.

1. Sort Your Clothes Before Washing

One of the simplest laundry habits is also one of the most important: sort your clothes before putting them into the washing machine.

At minimum, separate:

• Whites

• Dark colors

• Bright or strongly dyed colors

• Delicate fabrics

• Towels and heavier items

• Heavily soiled clothing

Color sorting reduces the chance of dye transfer.

A new dark-blue shirt, red towel, or brightly dyed garment may release some excess dye during washing. If it is washed together with a white shirt, the lighter garment can come out looking completely different.

Sorting by fabric weight also matters.

A heavy towel can rub against a thin blouse hundreds of times during a wash cycle. The difference in weight and texture can create unnecessary friction.

For delicate clothing, use a gentler cycle and consider placing the garment inside a mesh laundry bag.

2. Check Every Pocket

Before starting the washing machine, check every pocket.

This small habit can prevent surprisingly large problems.

Coins, keys, pens, tissues, hair clips, screws, and other forgotten objects can end up inside the drum.

Hard objects may repeatedly hit clothing during washing.

Pens can leak ink.

Paper tissues can break apart and cover an entire load with tiny pieces of paper.

Small metal objects can also scratch or damage parts of the machine.

If you have children in the household, checking pockets becomes even more important.

Make it a habit to turn pockets inside out before washing.

3. Don't Overload the Washing Machine

Overloading is one of the most common laundry mistakes.

A washing machine may have a large drum, but that does not mean every inch should be filled with clothing.

When there is too much laundry, several things can happen.

The clothes may not circulate properly.

Detergent may not distribute evenly.

Water may have difficulty reaching every garment.

Stains may remain.

The clothes can become heavily tangled.

The machine may also become unbalanced during the spin cycle.
