I thought I had hired a satisfactory maid, but after hearing her conversation with her husband, I was so shocked that I quit my job and stayed home.

Even though the salary was high, I still decided to quit my job and become a full-time mother.
I think many mothers out there are like me, unable to bear the situation of just staying at home to take care of the children without going out to work. That is why, after 6 months of maternity leave, I returned to my own career, and decided to ask my biological mother to help take care of the children, and at the same time spend 7 million VND per month to hire a maid to help with house cleaning.
Back to work for 2 months, but I have got the ideal salary that not everyone can achieve, which is 40 million/month. That makes me more confident, and motivated to earn money by myself instead of completely depending on my husband.
Seeing my mother and the maid working together so well, and life after giving birth going smoothly, made me extremely satisfied. However, after accidentally hearing the conversation between the maid and my husband yesterday, I decided to quit my job immediately.
Specifically, the maid "badmouthed" me in front of my husband, she said that I was not worthy of being a mother, what kind of mother would only care about work all day and leave her children to her. Hearing this, I was not surprised because I understood that if I had made such a choice, I had to accept it, many people are like me but their children still grow up healthy.
However, when I heard the following part, I was a bit worried and scared because the maid gave me a series of evidences showing that my newborn son was showing signs of clinging to his grandmother and being dependent on her. Moreover, my grandmother was extremely protective of her grandchild, only wanted to take care of him her own way and did not listen to anyone's advice even though her way of taking care of him was not right, and she also rarely let anyone touch the child.

She also “threatened” my husband that if he did not intervene and dissuade his wife, the child would only want to live with her and be separated from his parents. I had never thought of this scenario and certainly did not expect it to happen to me.
It was because of the maid’s “bad words” that I woke up and finally decided to quit my high-paying job to stay home and take care of my child. Although I have some regrets, I think this choice will not disappoint me in the future…
Many parents complain that after they give birth, the grandparents take over all the care and attention of the child. They have more free time, but because of that, the child clings to the grandparents, even not following the parents, making them equally "miserable".
Why does this happen? Why do older people want to interfere so deeply in the care of their babies? There are four “secret” reasons:
- The elderly unconsciously transfer love from children to grandchildren.
Every parent loves their children. They seem to want their children to stay small and innocent in their arms. But the children will grow up and have independent lives. Therefore, when the children have their own families, the elderly become disappointed and empty. The love and care they used to give their children seems to no longer be given to anyone.
When a grandchild is born, the elderly will unconsciously transfer the love they have for their children to their grandchildren. Everyone has a soft spot in their hearts, and so do the elderly. It is not that they intentionally want to take the place of the mother.
- Old people think they are more experienced.
Old people have at least cared for and raised one child. They have lived for decades, so they think they have more experience than young parents.
They know how to care for a newborn, how to feed a baby, and what to do when the baby is sick. They don't feel comfortable leaving their child in the hands of their parents, so they take on all the responsibility themselves.
- Many old people have strong controlling nature.
Some old people have very strong personalities. Grandparents are the oldest people in the family, so they almost want to control everything.
Even though their son is married, to them, he and his wife are still like children. When the baby is born, they will inevitably demand to take care of it.
- The elderly care for and love their children and grandchildren.
Many elderly people especially love their children and grandchildren. They want to share the work with their children when they have to work hard all day to earn money. And the best thing that elderly people can do is take care of children.
Faced with the fact that grandparents seem to want to “usurp” their position, parents should not be angry or worried. In addition to regularly confiding and sharing with the elderly, you need to pay more attention to promptly grasp their thoughts and feelings. If children encourage them to travel, participate in meetings for the elderly, etc., grandparents will certainly be very happy and no longer interfere too much in taking care of young children.
