‘Depende’: David Licauco on the possibility of courting Barbie Forteza

David Licauco finally broke his silence on the persistent rumors linking him to the breakup of real-life couple Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto.

Speaking candidly in an interview with Boy Abunda on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Kapuso actor was firm in clearing his name.

“One thing’s for sure, I’m not part of their breakup. Before, Barbie and I never really texted, especially noong sila pa. Of course now, pa-minsan (minsan), magkakamustahan lang kayo. Pero before, we never texted talaga. Swear to God,” David assured.

Speculation began after fans noticed David and Barbie’s growing chemistry both on-screen and off-screen, which only intensified after the breakup.

While they may be closer now, David clarified that their connection developed only after Barbie became single.

“We’re really close. Nagkakamustahan via text about work or projects. Whenever we’re together, we talk about everything and nothing,” he said.

When asked if he’s considering courting Barbie now that they’re both single, David replied, “Depende.” He added, “Who knows? Whatever happens, happens. If it happens, it happens.”

Barbie shocked JakBie fans after announcing her breakup from her boyfriend of seven years, Jak Roberto, in early January this year.
