Doctor Reveals: People with These 6 Morning Habits Tend to Look Younger and Live Longer
The best way to treat and slow down aging is by adjusting your daily habits. According to experts, healthy and long-lived individuals often share the same morning routines.
Generally, physical performance and organ functions peak around the age of 35 and gradually decline afterward. However, the speed of this process depends on various factors such as genetics, environment, work, and lifestyle.
Dr. David L. Katz, founding director of the Yale University Prevention Research Center, states:
"The best anti-aging treatment is to adjust your daily habits—including what you eat and how you exercise."
Even small changes in lifestyle can significantly slow down the aging process.
6:00 AM — Wake Up Slowly and Go to the Bathroom
6 AM is the ideal time to start your day.
Doctors recommend that after waking up, you should lie still in bed for about 3 minutes before slowly getting up. Avoid getting up suddenly, as it may shock the sympathetic nervous system—especially dangerous for older adults—and can cause a sudden drop in blood pressure.
After waking, the first thing you should do is go to the bathroom. This is when the large intestine is most active, making bowel movements easier.
Regardless of whether you're thirsty, you should drink a glass (about 200ml) of warm water after going to the bathroom. This helps stimulate intestinal movement, flush out waste, and prevent constipation.
6:30 AM — Go for a Morning Walk
According to physiologist Steven Hawkins, bone mass peaks around age 30, and after that, we lose 1–2% of bone density each year.
To prevent bone loss and maintain joint and muscle flexibility, Steven recommends regular morning walking or light jogging. He says this habit is "good for your body down to the bone."
7:00 AM — Rub Your Face with Ice Cubes

Dr. Ava Shamban, a dermatologist in Beverly Hills, recommends women gently rub ice cubes on their faces every morning for one minute.
Ice helps tighten pores, boost elasticity, reduce puffiness, soothe sunburn, and exfoliate dead skin.
She suggests gently rolling ice over the cheeks, under the eyes, and along the nose. This stimulates blood flow to the skin’s surface and helps flush out toxins that cause wrinkles.
7:30 AM — Eat an Anti-Aging Breakfast
Your diet can be a powerful weapon against aging—but if chosen poorly, it can also speed up aging.
Health experts warn that diets high in white flour, sugar, and processed foods promote inflammation in the body, harming the heart, brain, kidneys, and skin—the body’s largest organ.
Dr. Nicholas Perricone, a dermatologist, explains that even low-level skin inflammation can lead to cell damage, which manifests as wrinkles and sagging skin.
To reduce inflammation, he recommends starting your day with a breakfast rich in protein, omega-3s, and antioxidants—such as eggs, avocados, salmon, fruits, and leafy greens.
10:30 AM — Have a Mid-Morning Snack
A small snack in the late morning is very beneficial, especially for women.
-
This is the ideal time for your skin to absorb vitamin C, helping to fight signs of aging.
-
It helps reduce hunger and cravings, making it easier to eat a smaller lunch.
Healthy snack options include yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, or citrus fruits.
Drink Tea Every Morning
Lastly, one habit every woman should adopt is drinking a cup of tea in the morning—at any time.
Scientific studies show that daily tea consumption not only fights aging but also curbs appetite and boosts immunity.
Mulberry leaf tea, in particular, helps detoxify the liver and lungs, improve vision, reduce blood fat and cholesterol, thanks to its rich content of amino acids and various vitamins.
Additionally, mulberry leaves have anti-aging properties, help relieve fatigue, and are great for skin care—making women look and feel younger.
