Persistent Mucus in the Throat: Hidden Causes and Simple Ways to Relieve It
Why Your Throat Keeps Producing Mucus—and What You Can Do About It

People Allergic to Protein
Chicken eggs contain various types of protein that can trigger allergies, especially in the egg white. Some people who are allergic may develop hives, itching, difficulty breathing, or even life-threatening anaphylaxis after eating eggs. Young children are the most susceptible to egg allergies because their immune systems are not fully developed. Children under 1 year old should absolutely avoid eating egg whites. People with allergic tendencies should also be cautious.
Eggs are nutritious and beneficial for health, but not everyone is suitable to eat them.
People with Blood Lipid Disorders
Eggs are rich in nutrients, but the yolk contains a relatively high amount of cholesterol. For individuals with lipid metabolism disorders, especially those with high levels of bad cholesterol (LDL), consuming too many eggs—particularly the yolks—can worsen their condition. This increases the risk of coronary artery and cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, if you have this issue, you should limit egg consumption, prioritize egg whites, and consult a doctor before regularly including eggs in your diet.
People with Liver Disease
The liver plays an essential role in metabolizing fats, proteins, and detoxifying the body. When the liver is damaged (such as in hepatitis, fatty liver, or cirrhosis), its ability to process nutrients decreases. Eating too many eggs, particularly fried eggs, can overload the liver. Thus, people with liver disease should limit their egg intake, especially during treatment or while recovering liver function.
People with Gallstones
Egg yolks contain high levels of cholesterol, and frequent overconsumption can contribute to gallstone formation. For those who already have gallstones or are at high risk, eating eggs—especially often—can cause biliary colic, bloating, indigestion, or even bile duct obstruction if the stones move. If you have a history of gallstones, it is best to avoid cholesterol-rich foods such as eggs, animal fat, and organ meats, and instead adopt a healthy diet rich in vegetables and fruits.
People with Diarrhea or Digestive Disorders
Chicken eggs—particularly soft-boiled or raw eggs—may contain Salmonella bacteria, which can cause food poisoning if not cooked thoroughly. Therefore, if you are experiencing digestive issues such as diarrhea, it is best not to eat eggs. Additionally, eggs may be difficult to digest for some people, leading to bloating or gas, especially when the body is fatigued. Hence, if you are dealing with digestive problems, you should avoid eggs until you recover.
