Finding Gold in a Hotel: Woman Shocked After Learning Its True Value

A woman was left stunned after discovering that the gold necklace she found in a hotel was worth about $9,400 USD (approximately 344,000 Baht).

On September 26, TikTok user @namobanchangtongdaengso0 posted a video showing a hotel staff member bringing in a gold necklace to verify whether it was real. The necklace had been left behind by a guest two years ago and had never been claimed.

The woman who found it explained that she came to the shop because she wasn’t sure if the necklace was genuine gold. She works at a hotel, and the item had been left behind by a guest in a room she was cleaning. Following hotel policy, she recorded the room number, date, and details of the item when she found it.

The gold necklace was discovered hanging behind the bathroom door. After the staff reported it, the hotel kept it in storage and tried to contact the foreign guest who had forgotten it, but no one came to claim it. The hotel ended up holding onto it for two years.

Namo advised the woman to report the find to the local police, so that an official record could be made stating the necklace was found in the hotel, and that attempts had already been made to reach the owner. If officially logged, the item would be held at the police station while they continued trying to contact the owner. If no one claimed it within the legally specified period, the gold necklace would legally belong to the finder.

Namo also mentioned that they would test the necklace to determine its purity and weight. The results showed that it was 99% pure gold, valued at about $9,400 USD.

The finder stated that she is willing to return the necklace to its rightful owner. She also possesses official documentation from the hotel confirming that the owner had been contacted long ago but never responded. The document was fully verified and legitimate.
