Neck pain, woman shocked to see something sticking out
According to Workpoint News, a woman in Thailand experienced severe pain after accidentally swallowing a fishbone, which later pierced through her neck skin.
On June 16, the victim's husband shared a shocking post on Facebook, along with an image showing the fishbone protruding from the side of the woman's neck.
He warned others to be cautious when eating fish, as a bone stuck in the throat can become worse if pushed deeper with fingers.
The woman, identified as Samran Bubpha-art, 45 years old, was taken to the hospital for surgery to remove the bone.
Her husband, Suriyan Bubpha-art, shared that his wife had swallowed the bone while eating homemade fish soup.
Samran had bitten into a piece with fish eggs and accidentally swallowed the bone. She then felt a sharp cut in her throat.
According to traditional beliefs, the couple attempted to swallow more food to push the bone down, but it had no effect. The sharp bone remained stuck.
Although they sought medical help, an X-ray failed to detect the bone. Believing everything had passed naturally, the couple returned home.
Two weeks later, Samran experienced neck pain and swelling, resembling thyroiditis. Fearing it might be cancer, the couple returned to the hospital, but doctors still couldn't find anything.
Her symptoms worsened, and she applied a pain relief patch. On the second day, she felt a sharp sensation, like a thorn, from within her neck.
When she removed the patch, she was shocked to see the fishbone clearly protruding through her skin.
Doctors later confirmed this was the first case of a fishbone swallowing through the skin. Samran recovered after undergoing a minor surgery.
