When glasses appear dirty or scratched, people tend to replace them for fear of affecting their vision. However, replacing a new pair of glasses can be expensive while applying some of the tips below, you will have a pair of glasses that are bright and clear like new.
First, rinse the glasses under running water to remove all the fine dust on the surface. Then, drop a little dishwashing liquid on both lenses. Dishwashing liquid has a cleaning effect without causing irritation, so it does not damage the surface coating of the glasses. Note that you should not use too much dishwashing liquid, nor should you use detergents containing acid or corrosive substances to clean the glasses.
The next step is to prepare a cotton cloth or soft cotton towel to clean the glasses. After cleaning, place the glasses under a gentle stream of water to wash away any remaining detergent residue on the surface. At this point, the glasses will be clean and shiny.
During the cleaning process, if you see small scratches on the glasses, you can use polishing toothpaste to remove them.
Accordingly, take a cotton swab, dip a small amount of toothpaste on the cotton swab, then dab it on the scratched area on the glass surface, and wipe back and forth. When wiping, only move in a straight line in one direction, not in a circle.
Toothpaste contains some abrasive particles, so scratches can be effectively removed after wiping. If the scratches are too deep, it is recommended to take the glasses to a professional store to replace the lenses.
In addition, in the fall and winter, people who wear glasses often encounter the phenomenon of drinking hot water or eating hot pot, the lenses are always covered with a layer of fog, affecting vision.
The reason why glasses are foggy is actually because hot steam meets cold lenses and quickly condenses into tiny water droplets that stick to the surface, thereby creating a layer of fog covering.
To avoid this phenomenon, just use a bar of soap. First wet the soap, then apply it evenly on both sides of the glasses and clean with a soft cloth. Note that do not wash the glasses, just wipe with a cloth. This method will create a protective layer, the glasses will not fog up when exposed to heat.
