3. Platelet Disorders
Platelets help blood clot normally. When platelet levels become unusually low, spontaneous bleeding beneath the skin may occur, resulting in petechiae or purpura.
This type of rash may appear suddenly and often warrants medical investigation, particularly if bruising or bleeding occurs elsewhere.
4. Blood Vessel Inflammation
Conditions affecting small blood vessels can lead to inflammation and leakage of blood into surrounding tissues. This may create clusters of purple or red spots, especially on the lower legs.
