Speedy Hair Cleanup: No Vacuum? No Problem!
For many women, hair shedding is a constant struggle—and cleaning up the fallen strands is an even bigger headache.

Hair seems to be everywhere: in the bathroom, on the floor, even tangled in bedsheets and pillows. Some even joke that if you walk into a house without stray hairs scattered around, chances are, there’s no woman living there.
Let’s face it—hair loss is inevitable. Whether it’s a little or a lot, those keratin strands will keep falling, leaving us to sweep and pick them up constantly. But while we can’t stop hair from shedding overnight (that’s a long-term hair care journey), we can help you clean it all up in no time—vacuum or not!
1. Wrap a Plastic Bag Around Your Broom
If you don’t have a vacuum, sweeping is the obvious solution. But when there’s too much hair on the floor, it sticks to the broom bristles, no matter what type of broom you use. Then you’re stuck plucking out hair strand by strand—double the effort, double the frustration!
The fix? Simply wrap a plastic bag around your broom before sweeping. The friction between the bag and the floor will attract the hair, making it stick to the plastic instead of getting tangled in the broom. Once you’re done, just turn the bag inside out and toss it—easy and mess-free!
Bonus tip: If you have pets, this trick also works wonders for picking up pet fur without sending it flying into the air (and into your lungs).
2. Line Your Vacuum Filter with Tissue Paper
If you’re using a budget vacuum cleaner that doesn’t separate dust and debris efficiently, try lining the filter with a layer of tissue paper. While this might slightly reduce suction power, it makes cleaning the filter much easier afterward.
Another pro tip for budget vacuum users: Empty the dust container frequently! Many low-cost vacuums don’t have a separate dust compartment, so if debris piles up, it can reduce suction efficiency and even cause unpleasant odors.
These two simple hacks will make cleaning up loose hair and pet fur a breeze. Next time you tackle house chores, give them a try!
