Band-aids are usually used when we get a minor wound, helping to stop the bleeding and speed up healing. But did you know that besides treating small injuries, these tiny bandages can be highly beneficial when combined with your air conditioner?
In this hot summer, air conditioning is undoubtedly a “lifesaver” for the family. When we cleverly stick band-aids on the air conditioner in this way, it can bring unexpected benefits. What’s the reason behind it?
A Handy Tip for Using Band-Aids with Your Air Conditioner
The method is quite simple. First, we prepare two band-aids. Peel off the adhesive backing of the band-aid and place it flat on a table.
In the center of the band-aid, there’s a thin cotton pad. Take some essential oil or menthol oil from home and add a few drops to the cotton pad. When adding the drops, try not to get them on the adhesive area, as this can reduce the stickiness of the band-aid.

After soaking the cotton pad with the essential oil, stick these two band-aids on either side of the air conditioner’s vents, and you’re done.

Many people might be curious about the benefits of this. In fact, menthol or peppermint oil often provides a refreshing and relaxing feeling for the mind. When placed in front of the air conditioning vent, the cool air will disperse this refreshing scent throughout the room, making the atmosphere feel cooler. Additionally, the scent of menthol or peppermint also helps repel mosquitoes, preventing them from disturbing your rest.
Apart from sticking them on the air conditioner, you can also stick band-aids containing menthol oil on window screens at home. The scent of the oil will help prevent mosquitoes from entering.

You can also place band-aids with menthol oil on the doorway. Every time you open the door, a few mosquitoes may fly in from the hallway. By sticking a menthol oil-infused band-aid on the door, each time you open it, the scent will spread around, making mosquitoes hesitant to come near or enter.
