Taking the wrong suitcase, the couple was s.h.o.c.k.e.d when they saw what was inside

According to Mothership, a Thai couple traveling abroad for the first time were surprised to realize they had picked up the wrong luggage when they arrived at Narita Airport in Japan.

Their surprise turned to shock when they discovered that the suitcase contained 24kg of m.a.ri.ju.a.na.

On March 14, a Thai tour guide shared the incident on Facebook. The couple's daughter had helped book the plane tickets for their first trip abroad.

The couple's first flight was from Surat Thani Airport to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The couple had checked in two pieces of luggage, one black and one red. However, they accidentally picked up the black suitcase. Meanwhile, the person who lost the black suitcase reported it to the airline staff.

An airport staff member tried to contact the phone number registered on the suitcase. However, as the phone number belonged to the couple’s daughter and she was not carrying her phone at the time, the matter remained unresolved.

The couple remained unaware of the incident and waited at Suvarnabhumi Airport for about four hours until the tour group arrived to pick them up. The luggage was then loaded onto a Thai Airways flight to Narita Airport in Tokyo.

After arriving at Narita International Airport, the couple tried to take their toiletries out of the black suitcase. However, they were unable to open the suitcase and later discovered a luggage tag with a foreign name inside.

Suspicious, the tour leader decided to open the suitcase and discovered 24kg of ma.ri.j.ua.na inside.

A clip recording the opening of the suitcase was recorded by a member of the group. The tour leader then immediately contacted airport customs.

After an investigation that lasted from 8am to 5:30pm, the police concluded that the couple and tour leader did not intend to bring illegal items into Japan.

The couple and tour leader were allowed to enter the country at 5:50pm.
