During sleep, blood flow naturally slows down because the body’s metabolism decreases. If blood vessels have problems such as narrowing or blockage, when waking up in the morning, the body may show some noticeable symptoms.
1. Dizziness and Headaches
Most people often dismiss dizziness and headaches as minor ailments caused by fatigue, weather changes, or stress. However, if these are not explained by such common causes, they may be signs of blood vessel blockage. Insufficient blood supply to the brain leads to dizziness and headaches because the brain does not receive enough oxygen and nutrients.
2. Drooling While Sleeping
Many assume drooling during sleep is normal and common. Many people are unaware of these warning signs, especially the younger generation who might think stroke is an old person’s disease. But stroke incidence is rising among younger adults due to unhealthy lifestyles, poor diets, stress, and underlying health conditions such as high cholesterol or hypertension.
Maintain a Healthy Diet: Reduce intake of saturated fats, trans fats, and cholesterol. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
