Using a Small Plastic Bag This Way Will Eliminate Unpleasant Odors from Your Bathroom and Kitchen Drains

You might not know that with just one plastic bag, you can clean your drains and bathrooms. Without the need for chemicals or excessive effort, a simple plastic bag can easily eliminate the unpleasant odors from the drains in your kitchen and bathroom. This is an extremely effective trick that anyone can apply at home.

First, prepare a plastic bag of appropriate size. Choose one that is thick and elastic enough to avoid tearing during use, so that it can withstand the water pressure without breaking.

Next, use a pair of scissors to cut along the handle of the bag to form an open cylinder. Then, fold the bottom of the bag in half and cut it so that the bag is divided into two semicircular parts.

Then, place the plastic bag into the drain opening. As you install the bag, pull it tight so that it fits snugly against the inner wall of the drain to prevent any gaps where odors could escape. Once the bag is correctly positioned, fold the excess part of the bag downward and tuck it into the drain.

After that, use a thin string to tie the stuffed plastic bag tightly in place to ensure it doesn't get displaced by the water flow. When water flows through the drain, the plastic bag will automatically open up, allowing water to escape smoothly through the gap between the bag and the inner wall of the drain.

When there is no water flow, thanks to the elasticity of the plastic bag, it will contract and adhere tightly to the inner wall of the drain, effectively preventing foul odors from escaping.

To further enhance odor prevention, you can fold the excess part of the plastic bag upward to completely cover the outer surface of the fixed bag and tie it again with the string. This creates a sealed structure that helps to block out odors more effectively, ensuring that no unpleasant smells escape from the gap between the bag and the drain wall.

With just one simple plastic bag, you can eliminate the unpleasant odors coming from the drains in your kitchen and bathroom.

However, to sustainably resolve the issue of drain odors, you need to regularly maintain and clean your drains. In addition, you should develop good living habits, avoid disposing of trash down the drain, and especially refrain from putting food residues, greasy substances, or items that can easily clog the drain. Hopefully, this article provides you with useful solutions to improve the condition of your home’s drainage system.
