Paolo Contis said he sees no problem working with the cast of ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime,” despite the show replacing the Contis and Isko Moreno-led “Tahanang Pinakamasaya” on GMA’s noontime slot.
The Kapamilya show will take over GMA’s noontime slot beginning April 6, shortly after the Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc.-produced show went off the air after nine months.
Among the mainstay hosts of the now-defunct noontime show included Contis, Moreno, Buboy Villar, Betong Sumaya, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi, and Chariz Solomon.
When Contis was asked in a 24 Oras interview on Monday, March 25 if he’s open to working with the hosts of “It’s Showtime,” he said he has no qualms about the possibility.
“Oo. Work is work and I’m very happy na meron silang lugar (Yes. Work is work and I’m very happy they have their place),” he said.
The actor-host then said he’s willing to join forces with the Kapamilya show’s hosts such as Ogie Alcasid, Vice Ganda, and Vhong Navarro since he considers them as “friends.”
“Lahat. Kaibigan ko naman sila eh, sina Ogie and sina Vice. I’m very close to Vhong. Lahat naman ‘yan, very open tayo,” he said. (All of them. I’m friends with all of them, such as Ogie and Vice. I’m very close to Vhong. All of them. I’m very open.)
During a press conference for GMA’s “Basta’t Sama-Sama… Best Time Ever” campaign, Contis denied that he feels any resentment towards the network after his noontime show was axed off its timeslot.
“Tahanang Pinakamasaya” aired its final live episode on March 3, while reruns were broadcast until March 7.
