Amid the shock from Park Bo-ram’s sudden passing, the public recalled the life of the late singer that was full of ups and downs
On April 12th, Korean media reported that singer Park Bo-ram, known for her participation in “Superstar K2” (1994) and various famous drama OSTs, had passed away. Expressing regrets for the young singer who left the world before being able to fulfill all her plans, the public also looked back on Park Bo-ram’s life full of hardships.
Park Bo-ram revealed the sad story about her family when she participated in “Superstar K2” in 2010. At that time, the female singer, who was only 16 years old at that time, tearfully confessed that her father died due to liver cirrhosis earlier that year.
After being eliminated from the competition, Park Bo-ram burst into tears and shared, “Instead of feeling sad, I want to thank God and my dad for helping me go this far. First of all, I want to apologize to my dad and say that I love him so much”.
After gaining several achievements in her singing career, her mother also passed away. After fighting liver cancer for a long time, she eventually took her last breath in on Chuseok Day in October 2017. While other families were celebrating the holiday, Park Bo-ram and her two brothers had to hold a funeral for their mother.
Apart from her family background, Park Bo-ram also suffered difficult times due to criticism over her appearance. The female singer, who was only 60kg when joining “Superstar K2”, shocked netizens as she gained 17kg after only two months. Because of her chubby body, Park Bo-ram received a lot of malicious comments from netizens. Later, she tried to lose as many as 34kg to look skinner and regained her confidence.
In addition, Park Bo-ram’s romantic relationship with Seo In-guk, another “Superstar K” contestant who is 7 years older than her, also left regrets. The two started dating in 2015 but only acknowledged their relationship in December 2017. However, they parted ways in 2018. Since then, Park Bo-ram has not dated anyone publicly.
While preparing for various activities to celebrate her 10th debut anniversary, the talented vocalist suddenly passed away. She had just turned 30 last month. According to the Namyangju Police Station, Park Bo-ram visited the house of a friend for a drinking party on the evening of April 11th. Around 10 p.m., she went to the bathroom. As she did not get out of the bathroom after a long time, her friends went to check and found the Park Bo-ram collapsing unconsciously in front of the sink.
After attempting CPR, they called 119 to take Park Bo-ram to the emergency room of Guri Hospital. Unfortunately, the female singer was confirmed dead at 11:17 p.m. that night. As the police are still investigating the cause of Park Bo-ram’s death, her agency requested netizens to refrain from making speculations.
