Director Nia Dacosta, who directed the film “The Marvels”, discussed Park Seo-joon’s performance during a virtual press conference held on November 7
The movie “The Marvels“, set to be released on November 8, is a superhero action blockbuster where Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson), who protects the universe, unintentionally forms a new team with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan when their locations change each time she uses her powers.
As Park Seo-joon is set to appear as Prince Yan in this move, director Nia Dacosta expressed her happiness to hear about the high expectations of Korean fans.
When asked to describe Park Seo-joon’s role in more detail, the director mentioned that Park Seo-joon plays the role of a prince who has a deep history with Captain Marvel and is a ruler.
“He appears wearing a cool costume, but I can’t provide many details. Please check it out in the movie theater”, she asked.
Then, in response to the question about Park Seo-joon’s screen time, the director introduced, “’The Marvels’ is a film that reflects on Captain Marvel’s past. She meets people from her past, and one of them is Prince Yan. Although his appearance is brief, he plays an important role as a character with a short yet impactful presence.”

On the morning of November 7, a virtual press conference for the movie “The Marvels” was held. Nia DaCosta, the director, was present at the event.
During the press conference, Nia DaCosta said, “When I first heard the news of (me) joining ‘The Marvels’, I couldn’t believe it. I was originally a huge fan of the MCU, so I was excited to work on this project.”
The director then continued to reveal her fondness for K-contents, saying, “When I was younger, around 17 to 19 years old, I was deeply into Korean pop culture, including K-drama, movies, and K-pop, regardless of the genre. I watched a lot of dramas, and if you were to ask me who I liked the most, I used to say Yoo Jae-suk. Among the dramas, I liked ‘My Name is Kim Sam-soon’, ‘On Air’, ‘Soulmate’, and ‘Coffee Prince’, and I’m familiar with the actors who appeared in them.”
