Actor Park Seo-joon is gaining attention not only for his role as the wealthy Jang Tae-sang in Netflix’s series “Gyeongseong Creature” (written by Kang Eun-kyung/directed by Chung Dong-yoon) but also for his actual wealth
Park Seo-joon started his entertainment career by appearing in the music video for singer Bang Yong-guk’s “I Remember” in 2011. He gained recognition through KBS 2TV’s drama “Dream High 2”, “Shut Up Family” and “A Witch’s Love”.
Subsequently, Park Seo-joon played lead roles in hit dramas like “Kill Me, Heal Me”, “She Was Pretty”, “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth”, “Fight for My Way”, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”, “Itaewon Class” and movies such as “Midnight Runners”, earning widespread popularity.
In addition to his acting career, Park Seo-joon showcased a different charm as a regular on tvN variety shows like “Youn’s Kitchen 2” and “Youn’s Stay”, gaining significant popularity.
Especially in 2018, Park Seo-joon expanded his activities and image, becoming well-loved by viewers and advertisers alike.
In August 2021, Mnet’s “TMI NEWS” ranked him 7th among stars with expensive advertisement fees. According to the show, Park Seo-joon appeared in around 20 advertisements in 2018 alone, including overseas ads in China, Vietnam, the Philippines, etc.
“TMI NEWS” estimated his 2018 exclusive appearance fee at about 700 million won and his total ad revenue for the year at over 7 billion won.
In a January 2022 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Entertainment company Live”, Park Seo-joon was ranked 9th among the geniuses of building investments.
In 2020, he purchased a building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul for 11 billion won. Park Seo-joon upgraded the building’s value by changing the worn-out exterior to a bright color and enhancing its design. The building’s value reportedly increased to 15 billion won in just 2 years.
Notably, Park Seo-joon generously rented the building’s 3rd to 5th floors to his longtime hair and makeup staff at a lower price than market rates, adding heartwarming details to the story.
Meanwhile, Park Seo-joon is meeting viewers through Netflix’s “Gyeongseong Creature”. Set in the spring of 1945, when Gyeongseong (the old name for Seoul) was in its darkest era, “Gyeongseong Creature” depicts the story of people who fight fiercely at the border between life and death. Park Seo-joon played the role of Jang Tae-sang, a wealthy man who is the owner of Geumokdang, the best pawn shop in Gyeongseong. He is also the best informant in Gyeongseong.
