Seunghan’s hiatus is a sensitive topic for fans.
Recently, a comment made by RIIZE‘s Sungchan to a fan received some mixed reactions.
At only 22 years old, Sungchan has had a journey to get to where he is now as a RIIZE member. The idol originally debuted alongside Shotaro as a member of NCT in 2020 and remained largely inactive without a fixed unit to be a part of.
2023 saw many changes in the NCT Universe, including Sungchan and Shotaro’s departure from the group to debut in RIIZE alongside some of the SM Rookies that were announced previously. This was a big change for both idols, though they quickly adjusted and were ready for their re-debut.
However, RIIZE’s rise was interfered with from their announcement, as the group dealt with privacy invasions before and after their debut. In particular, Seunghan dealt with several that led to his ongoing indefinite hiatus.
RIIZE have since promoted as six, which fans have taken a stance against, demanding that Seunghan return to activities.
The fandom has remained hyper-aware of any indications of Seunghan’s future activities, which led to the surprising reaction to Sungchan’s recent Weverse comment.
On March 26, a fan made a post on Weverse with three images of RIIZE’s active members, wishing them luck.
Let RIIZE thrive, soar, and be happy. I love you so much that I hope for forever even though forever doesn’t exist.

Sungchan commented on the post with a simple “Let’s be together forever.”
Reactions have been mixed as fans interpreted the message differently. Some believed Sungchan was making a statement about RIIZE being a group of six with varying reactions.
Others were angered by fans “putting words” into Sungchan’s mouth, and his comment did not reflect Seunghan’s current situation.
