P-Pop idol Stell Ajero of the boy group SB19 has finally addressed the unprovoked “face-shaming” by content creator Stella Salle on social media.

At around 1 a.m. on June 1, 2024, Stell went live on TikTok to catch up with his followers and address the recent controversy.

During his short livestream, Stell comforted fans by confirming that he was fine and that the remark did not bother him.

He said, “Yung mga taong iniisip or nagtatanong kung okey lang ako. Don’t worry guys, I’m okay. Sobrang busy lang talaga.”

Stell added, “‘Tsaka di naman ako nasaktan, to be honest.”

Rather than see the comment in the negative, Stell chose to focus on the positive and actually made light of the “face-shaming” remark.

He quipped, “‘Tsaka sabi nila, di ba? Boom, sikat. Hindi, joke lang!”

The “What?” singer added, “‘Tsaka ba’t ako masasaktan, di naman totoo. Joke!”

STELLA SALLE’S “PANGET” REMARK ABOUT SB19’S STELL

A week before Stell’s livestream, Stella faced backlash for a post attacking SB19 Stell’s appearance.

Stella reposted a Facebook post featuring Stell’s old photos and attached the caption “panget.”

The content creator’s actions outraged SB19’s fanbase, A’TIN, which criticized Stella on social media and demanded accountability.

Instead of correcting her actions after being called out, Stella added fuel to the fire by posting another comment on Facebook, this time saying: “Pero totoo naman diba panget siya pero natatakot lang kayo magsalita!”

Eventually, Stella removed the posts, but made another negative remark: “Delete ko na nga oa niyo leche totoo naman sinasabi ko.”

Following these remarks, Colourette Cosmetics CEO Nina Ellaine Dizon announced that the company was severing ties with Stella, saying they were committed to self-love and empowerment.

Then, Saturday, May 25, Stella issued a public apology to Stell and those she hurt with her comments.

Meantime, despite Stella’s negative posts, Stell stated that he was never angry at the content creator.

He admitted, however, that the comment took him by surprise.

While A’TINs called out Stella for her “face-shaming remark,” some netizens, mostly on X (formerly Twitter) defended her actions, claiming the content creator was just being “honest.”

Of this, Stell said that honesty is acceptable, but the intention behind the comments determines whether an “honest remark” is negative.

Or yung intention mo is makapanakit ng tao.

“So that’s different.”

STELL ON NEGATIVE COMMENTS, BASHERS

Following the controversy, Stell encouraged his supporters to focus on the positive instead of dwelling on negative comments from bashers.

“All the things happened, wala naman na tayong magagawa dun. Sila naman yun.

“Basta ang sasabihin mo sa atin lang, let’s continue life and… let’s keep on doing the things that we love kasi yun naman yung hindi nila makukuha sa atin. Right?

“Just keep on doing the things you love and focus on your goal and continue ang lahat ng gusto mo basta wala kang inaapakang tao.

“So, at least, marami pa rin taong ganun, di ba?

Stell also reminded his fans not to engage with bashers, a practice he follows himself.

“Huwag na lang tayong gaganti. Huwag nating buhusan ng… Don’t add fuel to the fire. Parang ganun.

“Kung ganun yung tingin niya, let her be. It’s okay. Let her be. It’s her ano naman e, it’s her opinion.

“Basta tayo, we just keep on doing the things that we want to do and we are focused on our goals in life And we are focused on building ourselves. Yun lang naman mahalaga.”

The “MAPA” singer said that avoiding engagement with negative comments is a way to protect one’s mental health.

STELL’S REMINDER TO A’TIN

Towards the end of his livestream, Stell reiterated the importance of maintaining positivity and not feeding into the cycle of negativity.

The singer encouraged fans to protect their own mental health and avoid escalating conflicts by not mirroring the negative actions of others.

He said: “Paalala lang rin na pag may mga ganun, kung papatol lang rin naman kayo… huwag din kayo gaganti katulad nung way ng pag-attack niya.

“Nagagalit kayo kasi ina-attack tayo pero yung way ng attack niyo, same din sa ginawa niya. Huwag ganun.

Am I right?”
