Fans were quick to put two and two together, considering she famously dated the Baby singer for eight years.
But, as it turns out, the reason she turns comments off had nothing to do with the Rhode Beauty founder.
‘I disabled all my comments on my photos on Instagram for only my friends. So I think I’ve created boundaries to help me,’ she said in a May 2 interview on The Today Show.
‘Obviously people fussed about it. They fuss about everything,’ she added at the Rare Beauty 2024 Mental Health Summit.

Selena has been open about her health and mental health struggles over the years. In 2020 she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
‘I will have to say I thought about it a lot. And I’ve been pulled in many different directions to not or to be able to say it,’ she said.
‘But once I did, there was no taking it back. I was very proud,’ she added.
She also said she realizes she was struggling before she asked for help.
‘I wasn’t understanding my mind. I wasn’t understanding my reactions and my emotions. And I think that was probably the most painful time in my life,’ she said.
Selena is just letting the world know she’s happy with her boyfriend Benny Blanco, her life, and her decision to skip the 2024 Met Gala.

For years, the internet has pit Selena and Hailey against one other by fueling rumors of a so-called ‘feud.’
They successfully quashed the speculation in October 2022 when they warmly posed for photos together at an event in LA. They even shared a hug in one photo.
But in February 2023, the feud rumors came up again after Hailey shared a TikTok clip that some fans perceived as her making fun of Selena.
Joined by close friends Kendall Jenner and Justine Skye, the ladies lip-synced along to the words: ‘I’m not saying she deserves it, but God’s timing is always right.’
