In 2014, people made fun of Taylor Swift for wearing her shirt the wrong way around without realizing. But now, she has turned that fashion faux pas into an opportunity to make money, by selling a version of it as promotional merch.
Here’s a closer look at her new shirt:
Swift is trying to reclaim the narrative surrounding the shirt after she was dragged for her mistake in 2014 when a Tumblr account dedicated to her outfits pointed out the error.
“Her bordeaux sweater here is actually a reversible piece with Taylor opting to wear the neck [cutout] side for the front and the high-neck turtleneck to the back,” the post said.
At the time, the singer admitted she was wrong in a Tumblr post that has since been deleted. “I think what they’re trying to say politely is… I wore the shirt wrong didn’t I,” she wrote.
Still, Twitter had a field day with her mistake.
Needless to say, Swift’s fans are going wild now that she is including the backward shirt in her line of “Reputation” merch.

One fan even pointed out that the built-in choker look is very 2017.
The shirt isn’t for sale yet and the price isn’t listed online, but you can take a closer look at the sweater and other snake-emblazoned merch in her lookbook in the meantime.
